engine weight?
Hey guys, I was just wondering how much the engine weighs by itself wet or dry, anyone know? My guess is at least 200, but that's just a guess from moving it around.

You guys both lose! Without carbs it's 145 on a small palette. So I'd guess about 135-140 for the actual engine with no packing. I was able to ship one through UPS and they have 150lb limit.

Yeah, it's nowhere near 200 - I weight 235, and no way did the motor feel like I was almost lugging myself about!

IIRC when I weighed my engine before I painted it it came in under 100 and I had carried it by myself about 40 yards from the shop to the driveway a few times without a problem. I want to say it was 97lbs or so, but that was 3 years ago. It didnt have the sprocket cover, water pump cover, intake boots, or coolant tubes but thats maybe a 5 pounds max. So i would guess under 120lbs complete with carbs.
