Footrests and pedals

My standard brake and gear pedals are rather tired. Now they're off the bike I can see a lot of play where they pivot on their bushings.
Is there an easy way to sort this, or would I be better off just doing the R6 conversion?

FB,
get your machinist pal to bore the pedals to a slightly bigger diam & fit new Phosphor bronze or oilite bushings.
If the rose joints / ball joints are worn you can buy some "spares / repairs " foot controls and use the joints from that.
