600 double headlight type

Post by yamaha_george »

Hi,
well I like my single headlamp fairing on my 93 3HE but I would rather have a dual light & fairing set up.

1} what model is a straight bolt on ORIGINAL dual set up? year etc

2} is all the birdcage bracketry the same for dual & single ?

3} if I do lay my hands on a dual will my lowers fit or do I have to get everything replaced ?

4} will another sizes ie 400 /750 / 1000 work & bolt up to the 600 lowers or is again swap out every damned thing

5} any after market f'glass for the FZR6 top fairing stuff available see lots of lowers & seat .......

Please do not ask me to use R6 or some other late model stuff I like my Classic looks
Thanks
Geo
Ps,
I would like to thank all those who sent get well soon messages & condolences for the lack of use of my Laptop whilst in the hospital (which my wife (ward sister) enforced and had to read the messages telling me to give her grief LoL

Well, this depends on the type of dual headlight you want.

Option 1 - The single dual headlight that came with the 400rrsp. It has beem splitter in the glass and uses halagon lights. It should bolt directly up to the birdcage and fairing as long as you get one from the 400. The 250 will not work.

Option 2 - The single dual headlight that came on the '92-'93 600 and 1000 in Germany. It uses 2 different halagon light types but only has the beam spliter on one side. The other side uses a projector beam light so no splitter. It will bolt directly up to the birdcage and fairing.

Option 3 - The standard dual round headlight ('89-'90 & '93-99 US model, not sure about the UK model years). It will not bolt to the birdcage or fairing. You would need to buy a birdcage, fairing, intake tubes, windscreen, and light of course. You may also need to buy a wire harness as well.

The lower fairings should work for any of them.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
