Slipping clutch

I'm done riding for the season, but I was encountering a regular issue with the bike at the end of the riding season. Every time I would punch it (and hit close to 9000rpm) in either 2nd or 3rd gear, the bike would often drop into neutral or a lower gear.

I have no idea why this could be happening. I'm more of a car guy than bike guy, but am glad to tear apart the engine/tranny to find out where the problem lies :D Since the clutch is wet, in the bike, could worn-out oil have done it? It was only doing that at the end of the summer, rather than the beginning. I didn't do any oil changes all summer, and one was only done in the spring (i only drove about 1500miles all summer).

any ideas as to why the clutch/tranny is slipping/shifting?

THANKS!

I second that, and if you need new clutch disks I have some from the bike I'm parting out along with a new clutch plate that I have still in the bag that I'll throw in.
