Hey guys, I cant find the left fairing for my fzr 600 :(

will a fairing from a 1000 or a 400 fit? Anyone got any sites where I can get one? How much do they typically run for?

I know how to make fiberglass copies of things, but nobody local has an fzr that I know off :(

any tips ideas or websites where I can order will help :)

No only the 600 will fit, and try ebay.com

600's only and the right model as well ie single headlamp have different side panels to twin headlight model.

This side of the pond alkamoto-uk on Ebay got me all the fairings I ever needed at sensible prices

Not true, the side panels will fit with either front head light cowl. I've done this on mine.

eBay and I think you can still get the side panels from Maier.

Cad,
the reason I did not install the standard double headlight I imported from RageDigital is the fact that my side fairings would NOT match up to my existing single headlight front mask fairing & the windshields also does not fit single to double as the single is a bit higher & longer.

This is why i went to the single housing with a double pebble lens set up in it (german model I believe )

I agree with CAD. From all accounts that I've heard, the sides were the same on all years. However, you ARE correct in that the windscreens are different.

I nearly posted on this yesterday, because i thought(nah hoped)that the 600s were the same, glad that is the case.
I have got a 600 3he ad in the for sale section, but i aint"touting no ware youll",and i have got a said original left side panel to sell.

It has got a bit broke off where the two halfs join behind the exhaust, but i have the bit,so it can be repaired. The only problem is that its in the cadburys boost colours, and i want to take it to a graphics firm,as i want my abuse/track bike doing in the said scheme.

For all us Brits on here,i hope i will be able to keep you all in 3he parts, cheaper than any breakers prices, but if you can get things cheaper off ebay, good on yer-just pm me as a back up.I have found that parts for these go for pennies, especially when compared with other bikes from the same time(2 strokes especially),thats why i have got three that i am fixing up to sell as "commuter hacks"cause its easier to get yer money back that way,if there is enough interest though i would always be happier to break one and help you(fellow fizzer forum members)out.

Can i just add,i aint no buisness or anything.I am just a lad who's work has taken a severe beating(building)over the last few year.Last year i bought 3, 250 2 strokes(all the same),to learn my way(only slighty)round, but has money got tight,i sold in bits, and it helped to keep my head above water.I found though that i absolutly loved doing it,it made me wish i had learnt to be a mechanic in the first place.

Now ive got my little beaut of a 600,i dont think i will be without one,in one form or another again.I may well try and get a Triumph Datona 675se in black and gold :notworthy: but i will still have a 3HE  .
Anyhow,to cut a short story long-£20+postage and its yours, let me know if you need it.

Sorry to go slightly off topic (please forgive me George) but are you kinda setting yourself up as an FR parts trader for pocket money on the side, Yamster? If so, sweet - you'll be making a few quid off me over the coming months!!!

Life seems to learn me,not to say what i am going to do or not nowadays-but there is only one bike i am gonna buy and sell FB my friend, and thats the 3HE,so hopefully, the Good Lord willing  .

I see it this way FB,i have just bought one for £255,fuel pump has broke(i think)and needs other little bits doing. If i can get it working,it might cost me £50-£100 with price of an MOT.Should then be able to draw £400 maybe a bit more, and that in one lump is a bonus, when i have invested smaller amounts as and when i can afford it.

That way if i have not got any work, when i get up in the mornings,i've something to keep me outta the "Battle cruiser" that i enjoy doing and i am learning myself a bit as i go,so in turn makes me better able to sort mine out.

Last year with my kr1,i went through 3 engines(crank seals)and only did just over 500mls in total :x My fizzer has done over 3000 now and i have changed oil, filters and regulator thats it! what a bike :-D

Anyway,i am rambling on again :whistle you kinda know where im coming from now though friend.

Yam,
Good to hear that you are trying to add another line of work to your skill set, it so darn rare these days for a man to try his his hand at something where he gets his hands dirty.

Keep it up in a couple of years of "just give this a try" problem solving, technique learning (painting , welding, fabrication , upholstering, electrics ) under a "shade tree" ./ shed working. You will be able to be confident at just about any problem that arises.

How do I know? because I have done that thanks to an Uncle who said to go try............

Go for it.!!!
