WHAT TO DO NOW????? HELP PLEASE!

Ok, so here is what's happening. About a month ago I went out to the garage to fire up my bike to take it to work. I had been riding it daily since june basically and rode it to work and back the day before. Its a 93 fzr and only thing I've had to do is replace the VR once its the new version and purchased a brand new one.

So, It tried and tried but wouldn't fire. No popping or sputters nothing just cranking like crazy. I checked to make sure I had gas in it and didn't just get lucky on getting back home but has gas in the tank. i decided to then take my car to work. i got home later that night and after trying quite a few times in the morning the battery started to get drained. so i jumped it from my car to the bike since i don't have a batt. charger or a jump box.

it started and idled for maybe 45 seconds and i tried revving it and it bogged down and out and never has started again. i checked all fuses and I did a compression test and all are within spec 160+. Then I changed plugs and removed autolites which I thought may of been the problem but nope..so I put in the NGK plugs it needed made sure gap was right.

Nothing is in the airbox, I checked that right away lol but I ran without an airfilter for like two weeks like a dumb ass and I'm wondering if maybe I gummed up the carbs? But wouldn't it spit and sputter..backfire? idk

what I should do as my next step so if someone would like to recommend what I should do next that would be a huge help. To take carbs off seems like a pain in the ass so im wondering if there is anything else i should check first. Thanks a lot.

OK so the bike stopped firing as though no gas.

You have not said whether the gas pump is heard to click for about 10secs or so.

You have drained the battery have you checked its liquid level and charged it back up?

Have you checked the plugs are actually firing ?

Shred that kind of response is not worth the +1 you recieved by typing it. If you wanna play go do it in the your old thread about your bike you lost. This man has a legitimate problem and smart remarks are most often not well recieved by the OP.

On the other hand +100 on Geo's advice. Check all those things and get back with us

Yes, the fuel pump works and makes its typical noises while first turning on ignition. It Does throw actual spark its blue and seems to be bright. One side seemed to be white-ish blue like there was a slight difference off cylinder 3 and 4 coil but I don't know, doubt that its causing any issues.

Battery was taken to my work I put it on a low amp charge all day like 8 hours and I reinstalled it and still has a charge and I've tried it a few times and is holding a charge good. Has like 12.8 volts sitting as is. Thanks for the concern I appreciate it! The sarcasim/jokes are alright if you actually wanted to help shred but doesn't seem like it.

I would check my kickstand and clutch safety switches

Coil A fires 1 & 4 and Coil B fires 2 & 3

I take it you left the plugs in the engine & fired other plugs to test in each plug cap & HT lead

Just saying as I saw a bike mech lose a bike that way lucky not to get hurt himself as raw fumes bust into flames from the plug hole !

Over and above what you have done :headscratch: hmm seems unlikely the carbs need cleaning from an over night stand BUT stranger things have happened .

I would pull the gas line and be sure the pump actually is pumping gas not just clicking away. Clean the gas filter, empty the tank into a CLEAN bucket thro a pair of the GF old tights just to eliminate stupid murphy's law things.

Ok that is anew fact to deal with!
undo the exhaust to tail pipe union see if you have a puddle of gas no need to have a nasty bang.

Take out all plugs dry them in the oven and put them back when cool enough to handle.

switch off the gas at the tank then try again with your normal start procedure.

If the plugs wet up again repeat the drying process and leave the gas switched off it will eventually if really flooded get to a point where the air gas is enough to cough & splutter into life & you can turn the gas back on

So I tried what you suggested and it didn't start still it makes no sense this bike! I got compression, fuel, spark, but now I'm just wondering if somehow my timing jumped? But that's a pain to check the chain :(

Not so much as a burble ,splutter. hiccup, back fire ?
That is the first I ever heared of a flooded engine not firing when being dried out.

How are the plugs now wet / bone dry still sparking Gas still off but do you still smell raw gas from the exhaust ?

After cleanin the plugs did you check the gaps ? if so what are the gaps set too?

Its not flooded until after trying over and over but plugs are wet and yes it does have spark...?? Yeah I know, that's why I'm thinking timing jumped or something? Gap is whatever the manual says for the bike.

It is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that the 'timing jumped'-at least in any mechanical way.

It is unlikely but within the realm of possible that you have an electronic fault that is throwing spark when it is useless.

This can be checked by using a timing light on #1 and the timing check hole

(procedure to check timing can be found at the link below)

is the keyway in the rotor broken i had a dirtbike and a snowblower that would break the keyway in the rotor/flywheel and throw off the timing/spark
