Two Quick Questions: Fuel Tank and Cylinder Order

I pulled off the tank this morning and upon looking in I see the a little tube, about an inch long, sticking out of one of two holes at the bottom of the tank. Ok, that's the Fuel On tube, and the open hole is the Fuel Reserve mode.
But then I see a 4 inch section of the same type of tube rolling around the bottom of the tank.
My old dirt bikes all had about one inch tubes splitting the On from Reserve, so this four inch piece seems rather long.
Any body know what's up?

Second, and simple one: I checked the plugs and need a quick confirmation on cylinder order. It just goes 1-2-3-4, left to right when sitting on the bike, right?

Thanks!

one goes to fuel pump other to tank
I meant the plug order, not firing order, if that is what you are referring to.
What do you mean one to the fuel pump and one to the tank?

No. It goes 1,3,4,2. (#1 TDC@ 0°, #3 180°ATDC, #4 @ 360°ATDC, #2 @ 540°ATDC and then #1 again at 720°ATDC/0°TDC)

One coil fires #1 and 4....the other fires 2 and 3.

there should be a screened tube for both on and reserve i never really looked at them ive seen them in dirtbikes and other things but never needed to get into the fzr tanks but there is a screen for both and ones longer than the other for obvious reasons so the otherone rolling around gos into the petcock and i belive its 1 threw 4 left to right like you said coils are 1 and 4 on first and 2 and 3 on second coil

no.

#1 and #4 are on the same plane as each other (both are up top at the same time) AND #2 and #3 are on the same plane as each other 180° different than 1 and 4 (both are at bottom when 1& 4 are up top).

The firing order CANNOT be 1,2,3,4 in sequence.

Ahh, jeez. I was overthinking it. sry.

Yeah, the japanese count everything (motorcylel engine-wise) in order from the flywheel-even on V-4s and V-twins, and flat sixes

Good to know. Thanks.

Yeah I was getting worried when reading this cause my plug boots had numbers on them and I put them in cronological order. Got scared that I did something horrible.

Did anyone catch this or did I read through the thread too fast? LOL! This should be the "ON" pipe correct? And if it's "rolling" around the bottom of the tank it needs to get fixed (new petcock maybe?).

Yeah, that's what I am figuring. Next time one of you guys are on empty, get a flashlight (not a lighter!) and check your tank.
Let me know.
You think I could just remove the petcock from the bottom and shove the tube back in? Glue it?

They just pull out. At least the few I've messed with do. It's not a real good pressure fit. The longer tube is for regular tank operation and the shorter one is for reserve. They both go into the petcock.

Next time your tank is empty just unscrew the petcock and shove it back in there.
