single headlight custom front end..(updated pics)

Post by match417 »

I used the top of the front fairing from the YZF600, I had to plastic weld a crack back together, but it looks ok. I thought about plastic welding more around the headlight, but I think it looks good as-is. And the front fender is just sitting on the tire, that's how it looks like it hugs the tire, it's not even mounted yet, I just wanted to see how it looked on there. I still have to figure out how to mount it. Anyway, just wanted to see what you guys thought about the front fairing. It looks waaay better than it did with no fairing and just the light and gauges. I ran out of spraypaint until I buy more rustoleum auto paint, so I used napa brand black gloss on the rest and it looks weird.

It would help to have a front picture (even angled). Can't see crap with it the way it is now.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

Yeah, It would be great to get a shot within at least 90* of the front

the more I look at it the more I like it, it's like a streetfighter with a larger front fairing on top of the headlight, and it solves the problem with having mirrors on the handlebars (which I don't like) and covers the fairing stay so the mirror support section of the fairing stay doesn't look ugly and bare, so I think I'll leave it, I think it will look a little better once I actually mount the front fender, that way it's an inch higher and it lessens the gap between the tire and headlight. I wanna hear what you guys think though..honestly

I took the top half of the YZF600 front fairing, and plastic cover that fits over the gauges of the YZF600 and cut them both up, painted the fairing black, and stuck it on top of the headlight and underneath the mirrors, so the YZF600 fairing is now just a U-shaped piece. I was thinking to make it a temporary fix until I figure out what I want to do with the front fairing, but I kinda like the way it looks now. And maybe I'll get on ebay and get one of those cheap tinted windscreens from China and put it on too.

i think you got the right idea but im not the biggest fan of the wires on the side between the forks and the head light maybe a pannel or something to cover them up otherwise id go with a different setup to reduce the wires but if you like it thats all that matters thats why everything isnt the same
ones life is the way it is only because you allow it make it happen.

yeah, I agree, I had originally cut the YZF600 fairing so I could make my own out of it and fuse other plastic pieces together so it would cover the wires that are dangling and make my own custom setup around the headlight. But now I'm trying to find a new way to cover them that looks decent.
