Hey guys i have just put a r6 reg on my FZR as the old 1 seems to not be working.
I have wired it up like this post
http://fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php?id=r ... conversion
and it still does not charge, it only puts out 1 volt.
I have tested the stator and seemed to test fine checked all wiring.
I am at a loss as where to go from here :headscratch:
Any ideas?

Also if any1 needs the plug for a R6 reg i can get them i can also get the 8 pin plug for the igniton all new with pins,
just Pm me if you want 1

Thanks

Hi,
Yesterday I put the "trouble shooting your charging system / V-R" Flow chart in the two WIKI's.
You just might want to read that thro and follow its advice.

http://fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php Bottom of the page 3rd item if I remember correctly.

Also, reelrazor told me once to make sure that the ground was secure and it would be a wise idea to run a 10 gauge wire from the VR all the way to the main engine ground buss.

Should the bike still run after disconecting the battery??
This is why im thinking that it is not charging because my bike stalls.
A car will run without the battery connected and i presumed that a bike would be the same, am i wrong??
I went a brought a new digital multi meter and tested everything as the VR trouble shooting flow chart.
get 14.1 volts at 3000rpm so going by the chart its charging.
get 48.9ac volts on all pins
and .32ohms

Sorry Shorty not been exactly on the 1 for the last 2 days or so.

Those figures look ok, as for the bike continueing to run yes it should BUT i would recommend against pumping juice into thin air for the sake of the alternator & the VR they are both meant to work with load.
