what voltage regulators to replace my 1989 FZR600 unit

just like the title says

im wondering what voltage regulators i should be lookin for(what years mainly)

i have a couple saved sites on the swap itself,,but i dont believe they list a year

i think i can swap over a 1996 FZR 600 and up regulator???

and the R6,,and YZF
i just wanted to know what specific years i should be lookin for

any year YZF, and any year R6.
Im sure the R1 works to.

As above BUT you will need to modify the bikes loom as the old VR has 5 pins the new ones have six.

You will need to modify the wire harness anyways. The '89 model used a 4 pin VR. The '94+ uses a 5 pin that allows you to plug the newer one right in. I would modify your wire harness and use the newer VR's as they are much better. Check out the Wiki or do a search to find out how. It is really easy.

this is as easy as he makes it sound ... just remember to wear eye protection when your grinding ... metal shards dont tickle when they get into your eye


also on that note if it does happen go to your eye doctor within 2 hours so he doesnt have to scrape the rust off your eye .. cause that shit doesnt tickle either
