I working on degreasing my engine to prep for paint and I was wondering if there is anything electrical I need to worry about? I found one wire on the left side that I taped up and out of the way but is there anything else I should be concerned about before I paint? Thanks for any help

well make sure you use a 500 degree plus paint i would try not to paint any wires just cause it makes it easier to trace a problem later on. if you disconnect any plugs dont get the paint inside and the header needs 1000 plus temp paint. i would recomend taking the engine out and tape off about an inch of any coolant fittings so you get a good seal later stay clear of the wireing as best you can. youll get a better job cleaning and painting if you hang it also. its more effort but i think it is worth it.

+5 on engine removal for painting nothing worse than an "over spray rattle can job " when you go to buy abike you wonder what other attrocities are lurking.
If you want to leave the bike in the frame fine just remove the various covers & the exhaust system and paint them.
I take my exhaust off each year and wire brush it clean & Hi-Heat the whole system just so it does not deteriorate from road salt on the outside and before some wise acre tells yea I know it gets more abuse on the inside

I don't think I'll be able to remove the engine. I have very little for tools or workspace. What does it take to get that sucker out of there?

a 30 pack of bud light and some metric sockets and a floor jack and some way to hold the bike up right

PLEASE - REMOVE THE ENGINE! Removing the engine is easy. It is time consuming, but easy. Just keep some tubs handy for each part that you remove. You will learn a lot about your FZR in the process - I guarantee it!
