Just wondering whats the widest i can go? i thought i read 160 width but just wondering the exact specs of it. 160/?/18.

...btw...this statement is a joke.

The widest you "should" go is a 150. A 160 is extremely tight and not advised on the stock FZR rim. If you go with another rim, like a Suzuki rim, you can get a 160 on there properly, but you'll end up rubbing the brake caliper arm.

So, I would suggest sticking with the 150/60/18. I do believe that both Bridgestone (BT-014) and Avon still make quality tires in this size.

I have a 160/60 bridgestone BT-016 on my rear wheel
No rubbing issues and it feels great

iv got a 160 and 520 chain....got about 1/16" clearance from chain and brake arm

Which is really odd by the way. What other bike would use an 18" rear tire besides the FZR? And so, if the FZR is the only bike that uses the 18", then why wouldn't they make the 140 and 150?

oh how I wish they did, my BT016 set has reached its end. The front worked just as it should with the sides wearing quicker than the front but the rear not surprisingly was the reverse. I've reached the bars on both. Didn't have any rubbing issues, I'm running a 520.

I'll be dropping down to a 150 again. I'm debating between the BT014 (had the rear before and liked it) or giving the shinko 006 podium a shot since it's gotten such great reviews and a bit cheaper. Those are the only two "sport" tires that are offered, avon offers a sport touring.

My buddys bike uses a 160/18 stock tire.
I had to show him what tires he could get because he was having the same problem as us.
I forgot what his bike was though...

does anyone have a picture of the size difference of 150 and 160? i tried searching here and google couldnt find anything.

Go with the 150. The 160 brings up some problems thats better delt with by not getting into the problems in the first place.
If you want a fatter looking tire then do the 17" rim swap or swingarm swap.
