idling around 3k

'92 here, and ive got an idle problem screwy . the bike runs great in all respects :banana: (just bought recently) but it idles around 3k! i havent cracked into it yet but where should i start? hopefully this isnt a :duh: question

Look on the left side of the bike (I think). There is a screw for adjusting the rev. It has a cable attached to it that runs back into the engine somewhere.

Start with the idle screw. If that doesnt really fix the issue, you may have a vacuum leak. Check the rubber boots the carbs attach to and make sure thay are not cracked or dry rotted anywhere. Also make sure the carbs are fully seated on them.

Hi,
Mine will idle at 3k with the "choke" on just make sure that cable has not jammed open as mine had when it first arrived. after standing 2 months after it fall.
