I swear... if it's not one thing, it's another.. this bike really doesn't want me to ride it.. >.<
First the fuel pump, then the battery, then the fuel pump again, and now the clutch.. has trouble getting into 1st gear, but then sometimes have trouble getting out of the gear once you get it into it, and then sometimes it just slips into N from any other gear.. @.@
WHYYYY MEEEEE? >.< this fzr hates me...

and track day is less than a week! my friend said i could use an R6 but i really had my heart set on my fzr.. *cries*

If you are getting false neutrals, it sounds liek a shift fork issue moreso than a clutch issue..
Or it could be a combo dealio...'cause some of the other stuff you describe could be as simple as clutch adjustment (at the actuator itself-not just at the cable end)
I'd try the full clutch adj. procedure first and see what happens after that

welcome to the wonderful world of fzr's. They dont require alot of wrenching until you actually need to ride it somewhere.

you only need the clutch when pulling away from a stop or sitting in stop in gear...
if you put pressure on the shift lever and lightly let off the gas then the bike will slip into gear pretty smooth.
its just hard to downshift smoothly

Just put that beautiful bike in a museum. That paint scheme is by far my favorite.
