Riding home had problems with running, managed to get home intermitent running, smell of burning wires, bike dies.

I have tried to start the bike but I have no power to the gauges, I charged battery, checked wiring with ignition turned on

guages flashed on and off for approx 30 seconds, fuel pump clicked at the same time then nothing blank guages.

I have power upto the connector for the ignition switch but when I turn ignition on I appear to loose power.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if you smell burning wires it sound like a short the smell is strong so you might be able to smell around the connectors and find the smell and problem
