Can anyone get me the number that's on the bearing on the swingarm? I have the number for the bigger bearing (IKO TA2428Z ) but you have to take the dust seal off of the smaller ones to see the part number. Anyone got one lying around they can check for me? part number should be similar etched into the bearing.

There are two sets of bearings on the swingarm. Are you talking about the swingarm pivot bearing (where the swinger attaches to the frame) or the suspension linkage bearings (where the dogbones attach)?

sorry for being unclear. I ended up just ordering them from a local shop for $11 a piece, could be worse.

BUT! for future reference, each bearing should come with a part number like the one i gave above etched into it.
Take that number and call Accurate Bearing. (http://www.accuratebearing.com/) I got each rear wheel bearing for $2.99, and the other two needle swingarm bearings for $11 a piece opposed to the $22 on most parts fiche's. So cool.

Most yamaha bearings can be "de-coded" from their part number in the yam parts manual. If you buy get it from a bearing house not the stealership.

I gotta mention that those guys are seriously awesome. I bought 4 bearings from them and they seriously bent over backwards for me. I wasn't some big company doing thousands of dollars of transactions, just some lone kid buying a few bearings and they were awesome about it. I highly recommend talking to them if you guys need bearings of any sort.

Almost all bearings used on motorcycles are "off the shelf", meaning they are industry standards and can be purchased from many other sources besides than the stealership. If you can accurately measure the outside diameter, the inner diameter and the thickness you can find the bearing you need. Most bikes made in Japan and Europe will have metric dimensions, for example 20mm OD 14mm ID 6mm thick.

When it came time to find bearings for my KTM, Applied Industrial http://www.applied.com/ had them for almost half the price of the stealership.

Also try McMaster-Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/
