has anybody used this kit?

if so can you post pics of the brightness at night and give review of how easy it is or isn't to install.

Thanks David M.

Other than looking very cool. The brightness at night is maybe slightly better. The light is obviously a little more responsive because it is LED. Installation took maybe 15 mins, and was very easy to do.
Sorry for the pic, but here is a side view of the lens on my bike.

btw: all you have to do is get this one on ebay and get the bulbs at Autozone.

I got the same lens Tom gave you a link to and went to AutoZone and bought the bulbs (1157 LED) for like $5.00 for the pair. Took maybe 10-15 minutes. ALOT cheaper than the $99.00 kit from DennisKirk. Then you can just flip the rubber bumpers in the taillight mount to the back of the mount and bring the taillight in a little more flush. Then just pick up some of the short stalk or license plate mount signals and chop part of the rear fender away.

I'm certain that those are the ones. (2) 1157 LEDs plugs right into the existing sockets. The LED illuminate red, which is what you want since the clear lens will not be red. Take the old lens off, put the new clearalternatives lens on, and presto. It will save you a bunch of money for the exact same one Denniskirk is selling. This seller on ebay is the same guy I got my lens from.

nice. i'm kind of curious what it will look like with tucking the plastic in more and keeping the clear one for now. i'll prob wind up getting the smoked one in a while.

Thanks for all the help guys.

The previous owner of my bike put in the clear alternatives integrated kit, which is actually a little different than what you're describing, though the difference may be trivial. The LED boards are the same type that just plug right in, with an extra wire run off of each "bulb". You hook these to the turn signal wires, and when you turn on your turn signals, each side blinks yellow for your turn signals, negating the need for any "stalk" type turn signals.

The way you named is probably a better use of money, though, and is the way I would have gone if I had to pay for it.

I can try to do it soon, but I currenlty only have internet at work or if I go to a coffee shop, so uploading pics is a little fun. I'll write a note to take the pics tonight and try to post them tomorrow.

cool, thanks for the effort. I'm trying to find a cheap way to integrate the turn signals to the auto zone lights and it's really gonna help having a picture of what those look like.

does anyone know of a place to get a couple of old tail light plastics covers that I can use to practice for making custom LED tail lights with integrated turn signals? can't really use the only one I have right now given it's on my bike.
