Hello all. This is my first post on here. I just got my first bike, a 1996 FZR 600. I gotta quick question about it since I don't know much about all the engine mechanics yet. When I first start the bike after it's been sitting for a couple of hours it doesn't want to stay started, the RPMs drop till it dies. I need to pull the choke up for about 5 minutes till it will stay running. Once it's warmed up, it's all good. Wasn't sure if this was normal or something I need to have looked at. Thanks.

First off, congrats on the bike and welcome to the site.
Anyway, yeah this is generally pretty normal. That is the purpose of the choke. More so when it is colder outside.

Where are you from by the way?

Welcome to the addiction!

I would start by running some Seafoam, available at Autozone, through your fuel system. Chances are also real good that it might require some cleaning.
