YZF gauges fit on a FZR?

Local craigslister is selling a gauge cluster from a YZF 600. His ad says it should fit a YZF 97-07. Would it fit my 98 FZR 600?

you would probably have to hack the wiring a bit, YZF's had fuel sensors
better to stick to FZR gauges I think

Another quick question about gauges. i found one on ebay for a decent price but how do they mount on the bike? Do they mount via the fairing bracket? My bike doesnt have any fairings or that front fairing bracket. I have an aftermarket headlight on it.
