my speedo died

so for the last couple of days i have been hearing some squeaking coming from the front of my bike.. couldnt really pin point it cause it only happens when im riding so... either way it sounded like a busted shopping cart wheel and now my speedo kicked the bucket so im thinking the speedo cable is shot... any ideas or where to go?

Unscreww the speedo cable from the wheel and pull it out. If it busted replace it. If it is in good shape then your speedo gear inside the gauges is shot more than likely...
