does the YZF600 oil cooler fit the FZR?

So sometime this week i'm draining my oil out, doing a couple other things, and since i have the YZF oil cooler/filter i'll probably put it on. I just want to know if someone knows from experience if it fits. If someone knows that it doesn't fit, then i would rather learn from them so i don't have to waste 30 minutes. Thanks!

If you got into bikebandit micro and check if the oem part number on both models match you will be all good.If not dont try it

i haven't checked it because the FZR doesn't have an oil cooler, and the YZF does, what's the point in checking the microfiche, i already know that the numbers will be different because the parts are different. I just want to know if the parts fit, because when they are both stripped down, the cases are nearly identical, but there are some differences. I just want to know if this is one of the differences.

How does the cooler attach to the motor? Is it a take off plate between the engine and the oil filter, in which case I'd have thought 'yes', though you'll need to think of a way to mount the cooler itself.

basically on the YZF it's a big bolt/stud combo..there are threads on both ends and a 30mm(ish) nut in the middle that is attached to the stud. So you thread the one side into the block so the nut holds down the cooler, and then you spin the oil filter on top of the other threads. There is a hole in the middle of the big bolt for the oil to go through, and once it goes through the filter, there is a little port in the cooler for the oil to go back into the engine. I hope i explained it well enough, my friend has my camera right now. I'm guessing they are the same threads in the block so that i can just put the YZF stuff on and run it into the rest of the YZF cooling system that I'm putting on my bike. I guess i'll find out.

Sorry i misunderstood what you were trying to achieve(its late here).I assume you are going to install oil cooler radiator etc onto your fzr.
This sounds like good mod for my race bike.Would like to know how this goes.I dont have fan and this could be a good idea for my bike.
You will have to excuse me for about a week as daylight savings has just ended here for the winter.
Get up in the dark and get home from work in the dark.LOL

I thought the issue was that the oil cooler extended the filter too far and it hit the headers... I would just go for a larger radiator personally.

yeah, i was thinking that might be an issue, i have YZF600 headers that i can put on though, they bolt in to the head fine, but the pipe bends up too much after they all merge together, and it hits the frame. It can be cut off. I'm gonna do some welding to it to make it work.

my fzr600 came stock with the oil cooler and easily cleared the stock exhaust system and now the D&D. I'm not sure of the yzf600 setup but if is the same as the fzr600 it will bolt on to the fzr600s that came with the cartridge style filters. The ones with spin on filters will need the crankcase machined back so that the bit that the union bolts into is flat with the rest of the case.
