I bought a pro sync carb sync of ebay, 100.00 with the 6mm inserts. The directions advised to sync the unit first one carb, the number 1 or the no adjustable carb. I sync'ed it with the right carb, (looking at the bike from the front) sync'ed the unit got al the fluid in the tubes level. I adjusted the carbs, first on the left then the right and the middle screw. well I have all of the level execpt the fare left.(again lokking at the bike from the front). The question is, did I use the right carb to sync the unit before I sync'ed the carbs and in the left carb that did not sync have a possible vacum leak? Any Idea what to check or if my procedure is wrong?

You should hook up to all 4 carbs at one time. Google carb sync, that might help you.

Pro sync needs you to set the unit vacume form one carb then you adjust the levels in each tube based on that. You then hook up all four carbs and adjust base on the base line from the original sync on the one carb. I should have got the one from england carbtune II.

hmm...not exactly sure how that one works but when I used the two bottle method, you:
1) connect carbs 1&2 and adjust until they are equal
2) connect carbs 3&4 and adjust until they are equal
3) connect carbs 2&3 and adjust until they are equal

The way it is set up, is that you set the levels on the each tube, four of them, you have an adjustment screw on each tube. the vacume is based on the vacume on one carb. you connect each hose from each tube to a 5 link adaptor, there is a fifth hose that runs to carb one. the vacume is then the same in each tube, you then make slite adjustment in the fluid level so that it is very precise and thay all match. You them connect the four hoses that come of each tube to the base of the carbs. This way is surpose to be the most precise method for the carbs. The levels in the tubes are very sensitve and set to the same vacume based on the first carb sync'in of the unit. So which carb is number one? the left side of the bike or the right side of the bike( looking at it head on)?

The last two pictures of carb sync tools in use like the one you got had #4 cylinder off just a little. The main thing here is does it run better than before? Take it down the road a few times. If you don't like it, put the sync back on and redo it. If you do like it, then you're done.

Cad600 I think you are right, We the three on the carb sync looking sync'ed and a stight idle adjustment It sounds better. I guess with an older bike 20000miles that has had its carbs removed numerous times and has an older after maket can and jets, really what can you expect.

Dont get frustrated with carbs. The probablem is you're using fancy gadgetry on the fzr and the fzr just doesn't roll like that. The fzr likes homemade beer bottle carb sync tools

.
seriously i wish i could help you out with your sync tool.

The 'control' carb is the one that the cables attach to. This is the one to start with. (I think it is #2-left to right sitting on the bike 1,2,3,4 )
