i'm so excited! larger exhaust runners! I'm trading my JVC Arsenal deck from my car that is engine-less right now. Meeting him in 30 minutes. I told the guy i didn't have any extra cash but i have a deck i'm not using, so he said that was fine! even swap! He said he wanted a new deck anyway.

Nice score! You wouldnt happen to have a hook up on a 99-02 R6 pivot bolt bushing?

I have the header now..and it's one more thing to do to the bike now, and one less part that makes it an FZR..i think i'm just gonna call this bike a yamaha, not FZR, YZF, R6 or anything like that, there are so many parts on this thing from everything else, i'm just gonna say its a yamaha when people ask what it is..lol.

that's for the swingarm right? you have to tell me more about the part, i can text the guy i got it from, we started talking and i'll probably see more of him..he has a nissan s15 with a JDM sr20 that he's building up, so i told him about my celica with the JDM mr2 engine that i'm building up..so we'll probably be helping each other out with our cars from now on. And he wants to buy some intercooler piping from me, but anyway...he has a parts R6 that he's selling with his R6, and thats how i got the header. so give me more info on the part and i'll ask him. the swingarm has to come off to get the bushing doesn't it?

I'll dig for some more pictures for you if you want some, for the front mount, you have to cut off the bracket that holds the radiator cap to the frame, and either shift it down and back a couple inches, or relocate it somewhere else (i use the YZF600 radiator with the cap on top). For the front mount i used the stock R6 mount, i just cut off a lot of it and drilled holes through it so i could mount it to the frame where the rear fairing stay mounts to the frame. The back half of the front fairing stay isn't needed, i've been running without it for a while, and i like it out of the way. After this is mounted you'll see where to mount the rear tank mount. The old bracket that used to hold the front seat down and bolt in the tank uses two bolt holes in the frame, i used these instead of drilling and tapping new ones. Just get a piece of metal that is about 7 - 8 inches long and a couple inches wide, long enough to sit on top of the frame from left to right and wide enough to have room to play around. Off of that, I have two vertical pieces of metal that are about 1 X 2 inches, that sit beside the mount on the tank and then i drilled some holes into these pieces so that a bolt will go straight through them and through the bracket on the tank. To hold the seat down (if you are using an 05 style R6 seat) I have some bedframe angle bar that is 1 X 1 i think, or close to that size. It is welded so it comes up at about a 75 degree angle, then the 90 degree angle that shoots off is pointed back so the seat slips under it. Basically with mounting the tank if you start working from front to back you should figure it out. I forget exactly what pictures i sent to you, but if you read this while looking at the pictures you should be able to do it. It's not the easiest mod though. Good luck

i just mic'd all 3 headers, FZR, YZFr6 and YZF600. FZR has a smaller header than the other two, but the YZF600 header and the R6 header have the exact same runner diameter. And they both have a 4-2-1 design. Plus the YZF600 header is a direct bolt on, without bending pipes. This is easier than doing the R6 mod. The only differences i can tell, is the R6 header looks like it's stainless, and both of my YZF600 headers are painted charcoal gray, so i think they are regular steel, also the R6 header is closer to the engine, so it gives you more ground clearance. YZF600 header is a better/easier mod, so i'm sticking with the it. I have an extra YZF600 header if someone wants it, and an R6 header..lol. Personally i wouldn't recommend the R6 header install unless it's the only thing you can find, but on the plus side, there are good titanuim headers for the R6, probably with larger runners, that would be a SWEET upgrade if someone wants to go that way.

Send me a pic of the R6 header. I will need one for my build if its a descent price.

I'm back to square 1, and now that i think about it, i don't really know what a "square 1" is, or where the term originated..but oh well, i digress...don't know if i should use the YZF600 header or the R6 header. I went to put the YZF600 header on and it bends up too much after the collector/merger, and it hits the frame, so i can't bolt it in right unless i either have it bent, cut it down and add custom bent piping to avoid hitting the frame, or i could just cut the connector between the 2nd and 3rd runners on the R6 header, split the runners, and install it. R6 header is stainless, YZF600 is just painted black. So i don't know, for now i'm staying with my stock one until my bike has good forks and turn signals, then i'll focus on the header.
