Need some Jetting INFO**
Ok my setup is a 05 R6 header, yoshi slip, and KN drop in. FZR600.
Has anyone ever done the poor mans jetting with these 600s? With the washers and main jets?
If so let me know, or link me or something. THX!

A stage one kit will be fine with a K&N and a slip on. A good synch and she'll run good.

I run DJ Stage 1 with DJ118 mains (Mikuni's 110s), a K&N drop-in and a full Micron system. She screams like a banshee!

There is a wiki section on working jet set ups please add your setups to it that way in the future it will be easy to pick and n mix jet settings

There is a wiki section on working jet set ups please add your setups to it that way in the future it will be easy to pick and n mix jet settings
Possible stupid question - Where exactly can I put this info? I checked the carb Wiki and I don't see where I can put it. Sorry.

Sorry Mate put that down to a " senior moment" I had done a rough out on my web site:-

And then had trouble making the same neat look on the WIKI so use my link as reference while I put a link on the WIKI and try again at a decent table that can be edited.

Not a problem George! Maybe it might be easier for you to put in my specs? If so, here they are:
Main Jet DJ118 (equivalent to Mikuni 110s)
Pilot Jet ? (stock)
Start Jet 52.5 (stock)
Float height 24mm
Clip position 5 of 6 (DynoJet needles)
Air screws 3 turns out
Air filter type K&N w/ airbox
Headers Micron
Exhaust Can Micron
Elevation in feet 267 ft. (North Hollywood, CA)
Notes: She usually starts within a second or two of hitting the starter button with full choke and goes right to about 1000rpm. After a couple minutes she'll wind up to about 3000rpm. From there, I'll let her sit for another minute or so then close the choke at which point she'll drop right down to idle (which is set at right about 1200rpm).

Your settings have been added to the website (I cannot believe that NONE of you spotted that the table was missing the MAIN JET settings .

that mail did not pose a question so there was no answer, if you want to get your original post back in the new posts we just add "BUMP" to the mail body and it will go back in the new stuff.
No worries you original question about your set up is actually irrelevent, to atuner what arrives in front of him is an engine that is not making full power pure and simple exhausts etc are meaningless (unless 2 stroke engine)
Presumably the engine stumbles or has flat spot somewhere in the rev range and that you do not like
saying it stumbles at such and such RPM is actually fairly meaningless for the purposes of diagnostics. so we need aproceedure to tell us what is actually going on with the engine in relation to the jets in the carbs
Put a piece of duct / masking tape on the RH switch, then wrap a complete revolution of tape round the throttle rubber cover.
Mark aline on the switch tape along the axis of the handlebar, continue the line onto the tape circle. Now open the throttle to WFO and mark the circle again inline with the tape on the switch.Then by eye ( compasses or divider are better ) mark the half way point
between the two throttle body lines then divide the two equal spaces in half again. Divide these 4 spaces in half again but in another colour ink.
Take the bike for aride and see what line on the throttle lines up with the switch line as the bike hits stumble and where the stumble disappears.
Look up in the Mikuni book what jets are affected by your two reference points ie start of stumble & end of stumble and you will know what jets to go play with .
this trick was shown to a newbie years ago by Kel Curruthers I figure if it was good enough for Kel I will go along with it :-}
I think I will have to get busy in the WIKI & write this up and do some pictures as this is getting to occure too often as a question.

Also, here is some information you can find in the web site as well about some general rule of thumb for jetting carbs. I did a straight copy/paste on it, but the info is in the web site. NOTE, THEIR WEB SITE IS A LITTLE SLOW SOMETIMES AND NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE.
Jetting Recommendations
by Denny Zander
Here is a simple set of jetting guidelines that have worked for me. For those considering jet changes, this might help select a starting point.
1 jet size for custom 4 into 2 exhaust
2 jet sizes for 4 into 1 exhaust
1 jet size for K&N filter (single inside airbox)
1 jet size for drilling out the bottom of the airbox
2 jet sizes for both single K&N and drilled airbox
2 jet sizes for individual filters
2 jet sizes for no muffler (open header)
1 pilot jet size for every 3 main jet size increase
Add up all the jet size increases and subtract one. (Remember they go in steps of 2.5 for each jet size)
Under a mismatch condition, like individual filters and stock exhaust or 4 into 1 header with stock filter and air box, subtract an additional 1 jet size.
Check plug color often, sync carbs after each jet change, make sure the floats are set correctly, and seriously consider purchasing a Color Tune. (See "Color tuning Carburetors" in the Maintenance Section).
Make sure your carbs are in perfect working order before making jet changes.
Example from my '79 XS1100 F:
Stock main jets: 137.5
Stock pilot jets: 42.5
2 sizes for 4:1 exhaust (Jardine)
1 size for single K&N
1 size for drilled air box
