Front Turn Signals for the 91-92 question

Hey all, does anyone have any suggestions on any style of flush mount front signals for the 91-92 upper. I don't think the Flanders style work on that upper do they. I just need to get rid of the big ugly stockers but not sure what to get. Any help will be appreciated. :headbang:

Hey, I installed the flanders on my 91-92 upper. They fit on there, not that perfect, but they do and they look pretty good.

I managed to get one of them to sit flat and perfect but the other one I drilled the hole 1/4" off and it doesnt sit as flush as the other one, no one would ever notice besides myself, but it still bugs me lol

jax had some up for sale about a month ago. i hit him up a couple days ago, not sure if he's still got em or not. if he does i got first dibs! :whistle

but...i have seen these on ebay, they look to be the same as the flanders ones, and a few bucks cheaper too. i think from flanders they cost about $40, these are about half that.

tkclow, just wanted to follow up on the turn signal thing. i got the lights from ebay today. didn't realize it when i ordered them, but they are from china. so as with all cheap plastic parts from china, you get what you pay for. good news is, i'm pretty sure they will fit correctly. here's a couple pics of them.

here's a rough lineup of where they'll go. dont have time to do a complete fitment today, but the holes seem to line up, and they appear to be the correct size. the paint is pretty aweful, orange peel and dust in it. i knew that i would be painting them anyways as my bike will be painted satin black, so i'm just going to sand these down and paint them the same color.

the wiring will also need some help. not sure if you can tell by the picture, but the blue "ground wire" is just wrapped around the spring loosely screwy . i will be soldering that so its more stable.

here's a side shot on top of a cd so you can tell how big they are.

i can't speak to the quality of the flanders signals, as i have never seen any up close. but these are half the cost. like i said, you get what you pay for, but if you're willing to put a little bit of time into em, these seem like a pretty fair deal. oh, when i pulled out the first signal, i noticed the wiring seemed a little loose. once i opened it up, i realized thy didn't come with any bulbs. so add another $3 or so to the purchase, still a good deal :yutugh2:

This is what my low profiles look like. You might run into a problem getting yours inspected with the flush mount style.

They look to have the same casing that my Flanders have, but the big difference that I can see is the two wires. Just two. That means the socket/bulb setup could be used as either a running light or a turn signal. Stock ones (and Flanders) have 3 wires, where they function as front running lights, and just flash brighter when your signal is on. Not a major problem, but just letting you know that if you plan on just plug-n-play setup, you'll have to sacrifice your running lights. You could also fit in a new socket (couple of bucks at the part store) to run the dual-filament bulbs. It would take a little modifying, but would still probably be cheaper than the Flanders.

I noticed it was only a 2 wire. I will have to see how they fit when I finally get them.

tkclow, you ever get these things mounted on your bike? i finally had a chance to screw with em a little bit over the past week. the two wire setup is kind of a pain, but i really don't like running lights anyway. makes the bike look like some sort of aircraft in my opinion.
anyways, i bought a couple small turn signal bulbs from autozone that will fit under the plastic reflector. problem is, when i turned on the bike and put the signal on, its dull as CRAP. i got the most powerful bulb they had in that size. i tried the standard size bulb in there and they are much brighter, BUT there's no chance they will fit under the reflector. so looks like i'll be searching around on the net for some more powerful bulbs that will actually fit. that or i'll have to do a lot more modifying.
