champion spark plugs

I picked up some champion plugs today, 8809-1. Walmart didn't have NGK, nearest NGK dealer is a hike. The FZR600 wasn't listed, but many other yamaha bikes were. A few 1000's and 750's. The plugs fit a wide range of yamaha bikes.

Are these ok?

they will only fit the fzr1000.
for the fzr600, they have Autolite 4303

You mean the threads are physically different? I didn't see any Autolites there, I think I'm going to get the NGK anyway. I believe NGK's are a non-resistor plug, and just about every other manufacture IS. That could be a big difference if the stock coils are weak.

The fzr1000, and fzr600 take two different sizeed plugs.
for the fzr600, I know this
it takes
NGK cr9e (standard)
NGK cr8e (runs hot)
autolite 4303

thats all I know that the bike takes...
I use NGK cr9e

Honestly, you should be able to as long as you have them gapped right (check your manual or the wiki). I run champions in my 1000 but if they are the same size as what came out of your 600 then you should be fine.

I just pulled my plugs and they are definitely fouled, the champions are bigger, and they appear to be hotter, the electrode is much smaller. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear my first bike run. :swear
