i have a ?? about 2gear on a 01 yzf 600

i might be tradeing my 1990 fzr 1000 for a 01 yzf600 he said 2 gear was not working on it is this hard to fix or is it even worth messing with and does it affect the bike performans that much i have no idea about this any help i thx you all

If second gear is really gone then you aren't getting much of a deal. Replacing involves taking the whole engine apart (essentially you're rebuilding it) to work on the transmission. If you want that kind of project then go for it but if you just wanna ride..keep your 1000 and look elsewhere.

if you want to fix second gear on that motor, youll need to just buy a whole new transmission for the bike...not cheap.
I say keep the fzr1000...

Dead 2nd gear can also indicate that the bike has been raced/stunted/otherwise abused; you could be getting more headaches than just a toasted 2nd gear.
