the 1000 wiring diagram shows chocolate is left and dark green is rt and the other wire is ground on the blinkers. Some aftermarket blinkers have third wire which is run light that can be hooked up to lights cicuit. It may be possible the incorrect wire is hooked to ground. Also check that the dash turn bulb is not blown.Does that blink as well? Can you tell me the colours of the connected cable or photos etc.

There's a wire crossed somewhere. Here is the wiring diagram. If it were me i'd start from the beginning and connect one flasher at a time and play with them until they flash right.

This could also be the fact that the lights are LED's. If you swap them to normal lights it should fix the problem. Most LED lights need to have resistance added to the load so they will work correctly. I came across this not too long ago. http://www.customled.com They sell a flasher relay that should work and fix the problem.

Absolutely correct, LED turn signals commonly have a "fast blinking effect" Here's the Radio Shack way add some resistance, and remedy the situation as well.
