Hello all, i'm new here...

I have an 1994 FZR600R Foxeye with the choke on the side of the bike. Last night the choke cable snapped so this morning I had to pull the bit of cable showing with pliers in order to get the bike started and get to work.

Problem is, the choke didnt spring back and is now stuck on full. Has anyone got a pic of where the other end of the cable connects to the carbs (or wherever it goes) coz I want to see if I can poke a stick in there and push it back without taking the tank off etc (coz i'm at work now and I dont work in a garage unfortunately).

New cable has been purchased and is in the post so it's just a temp fix I need to do, any help would be great.

Here is one picture. These are from a ThunderCat, but should be identical to the Foxeye. The image is looking at the bottom of the carbs.



If you look up from underneath the frame of the right side of the bike, you should see the lever the cable attaches to. Or you might be able to get to it if you swing the tank up out of the way. Either way, I think it is going to be difficult to get to with out some tools.

Here you go. I've circled the slide lever.



You should be able to grab any pert of it in order to get it to move.

I'll be watching the news for a report of a crazed man threatening people with a plastic butter knife. It's a good thing you're not on a plane right now, people would think your up to no good. LOL.

Couldnt quite see in enough to make any progress. Lost my temper a bit and resorted to jigging the cable about with a pair of pliers and got the revs to drop a little. hopefully it'll be ok to get me home and then i'll take the tank off, in the dark, in the rain, oh joy.

On the way to work it was idling at 6000rpm which was a bit shitty in rush hour traffic and at lights/junctions.

I think the lever has seized coz I havent had a front mudguard on the bike for a while and it rained and snowed a lot so loads of gunk has probably got it stuck. I'm gonna have a look tonight and put some lube on the lever and then use the pliers method for now.

Thanks for your help, hopefully all will be fixed tonight and the replacement cable will turn up in the next few days.
