r6 radial master cylinder swap - DONE!

I just got my MC from BMiller on monday, and I finished the install last night.
It was a very straightforward swap with the only hangup being the line from the stock MC to the splitter was too short. A quick trip to the cycle salvage yard solved that problem. I got a line off a kawasaki that is WAY to long now, but it works, and I was able to bleed the system well.
BLEEDING! Man I don't know how anybody bleeds their stock FZR systems. With only two bleed nipples down by the calipers it seems like it would take forever! With the newer style master cylinders (with a bleed nipple on the MC) it literally took me 5 minutes to get an amazingly firm lever feel.
Also, the main reason why I did the swap was because my old (stock) MC was sticking, even after heavy doses of grease. It was like i was selecting notches of braking force, which was not good for modulation. This MC owns the old one in smoothness and progressiveness.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with the swap.
EXCEPT for now i can't see my coolant gauge
Now the pics:

I saw some compact reservoirs made for radial MC's on ebay a few weeks ago. They attached directly to the MC, rather than with a hose offset over the triples like yours. Should look into that.
Here's one i found quick, kinda pricey though. However, it cleans up your setup very nicely.

So are you doing two finger stoppies now? I'm doing this swap very soon on my 1k. Makes a world of difference. You could try shortening the hose that goes from the master to the reservoir and using a smaller bottle from a hydraulic clutch if the view becomes too much of an issue. Although Mega's suggestion is a much cooler idea.

So what brake calipers do you have on there? And what is your riding impression with the change?

Megaloxana - those are some pretty slick MC reservoirs, but they are not see through. I really like to see if i have fluid or not, and I'm too lazy to take off a cap to check the level.
sweekster - two finger stoppies i think would be possible, but i don't know how to do one. I did do some REALLY hard braking today and I was only using 2 fingers. Mainly its progressive and smooth, which gives me more braking confidence.
cad600- not too much difference over the stock MC in terms of Force required to brake, b/c the MC is still 16mm diameter, with (apparently) a very similar lever ratio. The main difference is controlability, and it is much easier to bleed. I have the stock calipers, and I don't see a reason to upgrade to the r6 calipers other than for looks.
I'm thinking about getting some sort of coolant display like this one:
it would go above the speedo.

No different than the stock master. I wouldn't buy one for that kinda price either.

I had one of those on my gszr track bike.
it was just velcrowed onto the upper triple.
I like them better than the bar guage....digital is always better

I noticed a huge difference in changing to the R6 MC but I also changed the lines and calipers. I love them.

I just completed my R6 Brake swap. I positioned my reservoir to be out of the way of the temp gauge. I did this by using a U shaped hose instead of a straight piece. Anyway a picture is worth a thousand words.
The hose i believe is from a GSXR, TL, or SV.

Guess what, Ill be able to mount my MC to my r6 triple. Lol

Use a syringe and a small vacuum hose and pump the brake fluid up the lines from the bleed screw instead of pouring it down. I have a how to in the wiki section. It took me about 5 minutes and the system was dry from being mailed here, well, ok, 10 minutes because I took pictures and made a wiki.

Speed bleeders... total time saver. I've got them on the GSXR - bad ass. No loosen/tighten, loosen/tighten...

back bleeding people!!!
put a hose on the the bleed caliper nipple.
put the other end of the hose in your brake fluid container so the hose is under the fluid.
open the bleed screw.
pull the brake lever 90% in, so it doesnt hit the grips.
close the bleed screw.
repeat that about 5-10 times and they will get ROCK hard.
It's like creating a air-lock system. No way air can get in your calipers!

That's standard bleeding procedure. Back bleeding is forcing the fluid from the nipple up to the res.
