Here is the only info I know of regarding frame sliders.
Here
and
Here

It definatly wont be an easy 'bolt on' job because of our frames. You can try bolting them into the frame but expect a dent in your frame after a fall.

There's a guy on the Archives doing up some.
Don't know if it would save your bike in a spill, be but he's got an idea.
Asking $150 a pair.

I had steel bicycle pegs mounted on my frame
when I fell, the peg pushed a demple into my frame...so dont go my root.

the reall sliders on our bikes are the engine covers !
if someone could make some plastic slider meterial to go over our engine covers then that would be awesome

I have a way to do it but it will require welding to the frame. Only way I see it being feasible. Super simple design too for adding frame sliders.

As for that guy's frame design on the archives.... Kudos for him making one but the welds on his template are pretty shoddy and the wall thickness of the steel looks like he bought it at sears or home depot. I would not be sending that guy $150 anytime soon. Plus having to drill through the down tubes is going to weaken them significantly unless he's adding a spacer through the tube which would need to be welded in place for optimum strength. He doesn't mention using one.

yeah thats what i was thinking maybe ill just take it a little farther withthe welding and see what i can come up with ill fiddle around with it and keep updates with what i find all though a cover for the case covers doesnt sound like a bad idea maybe like a mini bolt on crash cage for just the covers i could make it out of half inch steel rod and just buy longer bolts for the covers. i mean in the end thats what im most concerned about is the engine

While the NRC's are awesome, they are pretty expensive. And while they won't crack, they sure will get ugly looking after a lowside or tip.
