Fork Seals reusable or not ?

Post by Dragon »

Ok, here's my question.
Has anyone reused fork seals that were not leaking? :headscratch:
I'm about to change the lower tubes on my forks to the four piston type(93), and just put new seals in the forks(89) on the fizz last year. The seals in the new forks are also not leaking, but one of the upper tubes is bent. After breaking the forks down to do the swap, does anyone think I can reuse my seals, or do I need new ones? :ermm:

I would change them out. You don't want to have to change them out a month from now, ya know?

Replace them. For the low cost of the seals and since you already have the forks apart it would just be efficient.

Hi,
+5 to all for the change the seals advice .
The only time I have not was a disaster.

Err silly question why change the lower tubes ( unless damaged ) to handle the 4pot calipers I just bolted my bling blue stars in place with new teflon & stainless steel hoses of course.

George, I have a 89 fizzer. (2 pot forks)
The blue pots will not fit on those forks. I purchased a whole setup for an R6 for cheap a while back, so I wanted to put the blue pots on the fizz.
