I'm so happy

I have not been able to ride my little fizzer for a few months now.

It was having a issue with idle and the number one cylinder. I took the carbs off and cleaned them with carb cleaner, I used the seafoam stuff, changed the fuel filter, replaced the plugs and nothing. So this week I took the carbs
completely apart
and dipped them in "chem dip" carb parts cleaner, and what do you know, I was able to get here to run.

All I have to do now is sync the carbs. I will make a short photo video of taking them apart so if anyone else would like to use it as a reference. Thanks for everyones input on the issue. CAD600 recommended electrical contact cleaner for the plastic parts, which worked great. (4.00 a can).

got mine to turn over today too! So i'm probably just as happy as you are. After letting mine sit for 4 months, the pickup had some surface rust on it, and the pickup bumps on the flywheel were a little oxidized, so i sanded them with 80 grit sandpaper(only thing i had), started right up! even though oxidation on the flywheel probably wouldn't affect the signal for the pickup i still sanded it anyway. Now everything is nice and clean, perfectly sanded and clean! yay! i was soooo happy to hear her run again...
off topic i know, but, since there are two site directors, a moderator and an admin viewing this thread..can i make a suggestion? I got the idea watching everyone give +1's and +5's lately. Can something be added into the site where we can actually give each other points on good ideas or whatever? Then the points would add up, which would motivate people to be more creative with their bikes and post their stuff up that they keep in secret...hopefully. maybe it's a bad idea, but i'm just throwing it out there...

Match,
The points idea is an idea which although not a "table" as such i could put in the WIKI as a Qudos column that this URL ? Book Listing was |Given to us by " ?????? "
Hints tips for making tooling we can credit as original concept by "?" and written up by <?> and added to the HOW-to Header on the title page of the WIKI.
I am trying to get tech stuff into condensed form in the WIKI so it is THE reference for us all rather than us having first to search for the topic then read every mail in 10 pages etc.
Do not get me wrong the inter-action of us all stimulates us all and promotes this whole idea of smart ass ways to do the job / better / easier etc. but 6 months down the line are you gonna remember what thread you saw something in with your idea if you remeber who wrote it the WIKI is easy to scan for the contributor .
Nice One, & congrats on the bike now go ride this weekend

Almost & Match, great to hear you've got your bikes running again. I wish the temperature here weren't -22F so I could ride my bike. Brrrr.

If I lived in Hawaii, my bike would not sit for 4 months at one time.

sigh..yeah, and it's still sitting, i got it running so I could send the guy the carbs since he had already paid me half of the money to hold them for him, and since they had sat for 4 months I didn't want to send them to him if they needed a cleaning or syncing, they were fine when i cranked it, so i pulled them off and sent them. That was over a month ago. My safety inspection is still expired and i still have to put the fork seals on it, make a slim LED light for the license plate light, fix my turn signal, unlock my fuel pump, since it froze from accidentally connecting the wires backwards, fix the rear brake switch as the wires have twisted somehow and I think a wire broke, reroute the cooling tubes to make room for the YZF carbs, put the carbs on, make the stock airbox fit under my R6 tank...ugh. All simple stuff that just takes time and a little money, both of which I don't have. The only thing I have to buy is the seals and even though the seals are $35 or whatever, then the price of fork oil. I haven't done the other little stuff because..basically, what's the rush. I have the time today, but i'm sitting on my butt..actually, i'm going outside now to do some little stuff and see what all i can get accomplished. You've motivated me..

. Still need to get money to buy seals though..
It has been colder than usual here, and since i'm acclimated to the weather, it feels really chilly. So I would be really cold on the bike.
