*DISCLAIMER*
I only know for sure that these fit my 93, I have no idea if all FZR's that take spin ons are the same*
I put a Bosch 3300 on today so thats how I know....and I checked the book at autozone and it confirmed the m1-108 and the internet confirmed the supertech(I found it listed somewhere on the archives and a google took me to a honda page fo the ST1300 which uses the same supertech, and as such, the same other filters)
Recommended filters.
All have superior
filtering.

I run a fram ph6017a
I know from taurus forums (my four wheeled whip) that frams suck. The only reason I run these is because walmart sells them at half the price of the dealership ones.
I usually change filters every 3,000 miles, every other oil change (ish. Depends on money but I change oil at 2,000 at most).

AWESOME!! I really hated used fram but that's all I could find. Just picked up a Purolator PL14610 badboy, it's beautiful. Fits perfect and I like that it's a little longer(more filtering capacity)

I don't know why anyone would use an "automotive" oil filter on their motorcycle ?
I use - HiFloFiltro ... part # 30-3909 from Dennis Kirk, $7.15
...they also offer Emgo, Fram, Parts Unlimited and K & N brands.
Up until a couple years ago I always had the dealer do it and they used Yamaha filter, which seem to work fine.

an oil filter is an oil filter man. they are all paper filters, unless you can get a good scotts metal one........
I have some emgo's for my old 1k and they say they are only good for 1500 miles

Your wrong! Not all filters have paper or cardboard. Fram are the worst ones out there and mobile one's are the best. Our class cut in half 12 different filters and this is what we found.

YOu can cross reference any oil filter that will fit a honda civic ( 01-05 ) and they will fit the FZR. I personally like using the supertechs from walmart. They are priced low and have been shown to filter good according to a study I read online. Plus I change my ol religiously every 2 months, Valvoline 20w-50 regular car oil. No need to blow all your money on specific motorcycle oil.

Because they're often easier to source, and are designed to remain in service for usually double the life of the Yamaha item, so are an ideal, cheap way to service a bike (especially if your mileage is low).
There's a Purolator stockist not far from me, so I might give it a try myself.

Frack, I wish I noticed this little comment before I bought mine (NAPA Gold = Wix 1365).
Same experience, 1991 FZR600 - you can actually see a mm or so gap between the outer lip and the engine, and it gets *stuck* on there, to boot.

Someone mind updating the sticky?
