Yes. But check your specific gravity in the cells with a hydrometer asuming its not a sealed battery. And if you need a new one allegedly Wally Worlds Everstart ES12N94B1 is a fiscally responsible alternative at around the $30 mark. As my battery is on the way out I will be looking into this potential alternative myself.

sucks. did you go through the flowcharts? we see more bad VRs around here than starters, and I suspect the starter is a pricier bit of hardware.

bucket, how long have you been hiding? i didn't know there was anyone else in here from AZ. whereabouts are you in Chandler? i'm out in Mesa around Lindsay and McKellips. once our bikes are up and running, we should go for a ride. sounds like yours has less problems than mine. if you need any local help, let me know.

dunno, bucket spelled it "startor". Must be one of those fancy new combo "Starter/Stators"

2 amps is fine, trickle charge is best

make sure you have one with an auto-off

I started all over on the flow chart I wanted to duble check things.. and know Im thinking its not the stator. this is the thing that is odd to me. at idle my voltage it 13.8, but when I bring it up to 3,000 rpms it drops to 13.1.... I then measured the amps and only have .o1 amps. I then measured the AC volts from the White wires 52v on all of them. which tells me its the VR. I whent to the next step just because of the voltage drop from the first step. Im getting .5 ohms through the stator wich then tells my my stator is bad? what do you guys think both the VR and stator is bad?

I'd probably replace the VR first. That might fix the problem. I replaced mine today with an R6 unit. It was pretty straightforward.
