Suzuki Bandit Wheel Swap Info

I was doing some research into the wheel swap for the 1997 Suzuki Bandit 600 wheel I won on eBay a little while back, and I found some wheel bearing numbers that may help out.

Stock FZR600 rear wheel bearings:
Bearing # 6202
Inside Bore Diameter = 17mm
Outside Diameter = 40mm
Thickness = 12mm

Stock Bandit 600 rear wheel bearings:
Bearing # 6204
Inside Bore Diameter = 20mm
Outside Diameter = 47mm
Thickness = 14mm

Wheel Swap rear wheel bearings:
Bearing # 6303
Inside Bore Diameter = 17mm
Outside Diameter = 47mm
Thickness = 14mm
I've seen a couple of references to this being a FJR1100 Front Wheel Bearing, but I haven't confirmed this yet.

Hope someone finds this useful.

That is very good info. Since TomGun has the rim that I had, he can probably read the numbers off the bearings that fit the FZR axle.

Thanks for the compliment Rage. I just had too much spare time at works since business has slowed down and decided to research it. It looks more and more like the early 80's XJ/FJ1100 front wheel bearings are the 6303's, so if one could find a kit for the front of that bike cheaper, it would be an alternative. Though to confirm this, it looks more and more like I'd just have to pony up, take one for the team and order a set.

Also, more random wheel swap info;
The Bandit 600 rear rim from 95-99 is a 17x4.50", just like the '89 GSXR 750/1100, and it matches the stock FZR600 rim pretty well. Once again, you can't use an FZR rotor, sprocket, or sprocket carrier (I hoped and tried to no avail). The stock tire for this bike was the 150/70R17, and you could probably put a 160 on it with no problems except maybe the brake arm clearance.

I'm going to get into this much deeper, once I get the bike in the basement for the winter (within the next few weeks). Among the wheel I got from rage, I also have a 89 GSXR rim as well. I'm going to see If I can get a item by item list (bearings) together for a much easier swap, hopefully with little modifications required. Not to worry guys! There's a solution here somewhere.

TG,
all the bearing info should go on the bearing table under fzr6 wiki, The yamaha part-numbers incorporate the universal bearing house numbers EXCEPT the cushdrive held bearing. BUT yamaha has chosen to use the same bearing in that for all the models I know of , just adds an internal spacer that "throttles" down the innner diam to axle size.
GSXR etc are a mystery to me personally but once you have the suzi number & the bearing house number you can decode all of them.

I would never buy yam or any other bearing as the mark up is 100% usually find the bearing and what its shields (ball covers) are and add the house code to that
double sided rubber seals are usually 2RS etc.

good data base is :-http://www.simplybearings.co.uk the USA has as well but I do not remember their URL's so easily :-}

HI well I have added this to the bearing info section of the FZR6 wiki & played with the layout (Hmmmmm)
