1) I wish to get an undertail kit for my bike but I am not sure what year tail that I have. Can you help? I belive it is a 1999 - 2002 R6


2) the bike runs excellent, but the idle wonders while sitting. It is set at 1500, but wonders to 1900 and back, what gives.... yes did a sync with an actuall mercury carb tune 2 tool. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try some seafoam to simmer down that idle problem.

98-2002 check hotbodies undertails, they are nice, had an 03 on one of my fzrs

Tried it and B12 Chemtool. Had the carbs tore down and built back up.....

air leak..try checking for cracks in your intake boots(between carbs and head) and make sure your airbox is properly secured(can be a real PITA)

+1 on checking for leaks.

Another painless thing to do is check the header temps to make sure that they are all similar at IDLE. You don't necessarily need to hit a specific temp, just check to make sure they all close. You may find that one is running extremely lean or rich.

Would help if you took a good pic of the rear tail area. Kind of looks like 99-02 R6 but cant be sure with only a 1/3 of it showing.

Well i'm 100% sure that this tail is '99-'02 model R6. I had an R6 for a couple of months sometimes and it's familiar to me. After '03 Yamaha make changes on R6.

Definatly 99-02 rear. Hot bodies under tail is on my Santa list...

Idle: FM I just ran the tank of gas with the B12 Chemtool and fill'ed er up with the good stuff 93 octane, and she idles smooth @ 1200.

I have the 01-02 R6 factory undertail battery box/tray for sale. if you plan on running a painted undertail, this box will allow you to bolt it right up.
