steering lock (got mine to work)

Post by shredex »

does anyones work?
After studying my steering lock problem, and noticing that the bolt is to low by 1/16"
all I had to do was adjust one of the spacer on the triple trees which raised the top section with the ignition. Now it works!!
Yay!! not ther is a whole 10% less chance of someone stealing my bike from the original 95%...

Id like to make mine work but I have no clue how.

S,
mine works, most times the bolt bit gets bent or the hole in the frame gets burred.
judicios use of a file usually sorts it our

oh, i see, its off center.
the bolt is about 1/8 inch to low, so it doesnt go into the frame hole

i think ill have to grind down the ignition mount so its set higher and will meet with the hole

+1! My buddy's '68 El Camino does that with the ingition. I thought it'd be nice cause then you'd never accidentally leave your key in the ingnition.
