I was given a 6x9 Sony Punch speaker which has alot better sound quality than the 5x7 speaker that came out of a Ford.
So im putting the Sony onto my bike. But its to big to mount it how I had the other one mounted, so I have to make a box for it.
Im going to make this setup much better.
*on/off switch
*LED lights which 3-Way toggle switch (can switch to pulse with the music)
I am going to cut out an oval on the top of my rear fairing and put a piece of plexiglass there and have the LED's shining through.
Ill should have everything done tonight except for the plexyglass part.
heres how im going to wire it.
heres what I have so far... I will also be fiberglassing over the partical board so its waterproof and looks better.

the setup

computer speaker amp

heres where I will put plexiglass so you can see the speaker with red LED's

temperary plastic

need another strip of LED's

heres how it sounds

You should check into an outdoor speaker. That way any moisture you get will not effect it.

Heard that! Let me know how it works out. I will be doing this for the Intruder. Im looking to mount the speakers or speaker on the handlebars right behind the front wind shield.

I have no clue how the hell your going to make the mount for that. good luck though!
I wonder what amp they use on the crusier bikes for there speakers, that would be alot better than a computer speaker amp. I just need to find one, but I cant.
alright, well, Im heading out to the Wal-mart to buy some cheap ass 12v computer speakers to steal the amp out of them for my project.
be back in a little!

Try to seal the box for the speaker. 6x9's usually sound like crap when run as "free air". Especially marine speakers.

+1 on sealing the box
here's a fun link that's more for cars, they do have some stuff for bikes, but only list 1 Yamaha and some Harleys.
I say buy a couple of these puppies and schlap them on the sides of your bike at sharp angle and you can have big bass and pretend it's a V-twin.

On a more serious note, that toilet water is making me thirsty.

well, I guess I cant wire my LED's to pulse with the music because they need constant power.
The Computer speakers I boughts power was 9v, so I cant stick it to the bikes battery instead, I bought a 9v battery and wired it to that and it worked.
The LED's work with the 9v battery eveb though there 12v, so Im wiring them to an on/off switch and to another 9v.
I need a waterproof case for the computer amp. but theres not ANY room left under the tail fairing.
Ill have pics up later
