It was easy to install. the flywheel was a bit of a pain to get off, otherwise you just swap keys. its well worth it too. it seemed to free up the engine revs and gave more pull.

When I got my bike, it already had the timing advancer installed (or so the previous owner said, I haven't checked yet) and it seems run well with it in. I always put premium gas (93 here in AL) in my FZR to avoid any chances of detonation, and though I am no expert on the subject, I would at least run mid-grade fuel in it after installing the timing advancer.

If you're looking for more bang-for-your-buck power for racing purposes, another worthwhile investment would probably be one of these:
viewtopic.php?f=53&t=587
or you could go with a Vance and Hines Supersport system.

I personally haven't upgraded my exhaust (still straightening out carbs and suspension) but alot of the guys are giving it rave reviews. Another option along that train of thought is to check e-bay for an aftermarket header for the 99-02 R6 instead of a stock one and have Nate (thatkid) modify it like the stock ones he's doing. That's what I was planning on doing in the near future, when the budget allows.

yeah, let me know how it goes. Mine does the same thing, but I always figured it was the emulsion tubes. I got those on the way now and will be rebuilding the carbs in a week or two, but it would be awesome to know if I need to keep an eye out for a stock keyway to fix the problem after rebuilding the carbs. banghead

Yea, with me being a technician I dont like to hear my engine sounding like that.. :x .So if my stock keyway fixes the noise I will be selling the Factory Pro 5" Deg. Advancer........79.00 out the window!!!!!!11 :swear

you could just change the needle clip on the jetted carbs if its just a temp preignition spot.......

Well that is another concern....I had to install my factory needles because of a bad busting spot at 5-6k....So what now...

Does anyone happen to have any pics of the difference between stock and with the advancer in? I have the stator cover off and can't really tell that there is an advancer in there.

You have to pull the flywheel off on the shaft its like a little piece of metal in the shape of a half circle I can't remember what my key looked like stock changed it out so fast but after 6 months can't even notice its in there or if its even doing anything.
