Sounds like a loose connection issue verses a battery issue.....there's not much to a wet cell battery in terms of technology...I would check all of the connections on the circuit giving you issues. Hope it isn't related to the VR thingy

I would check on a sealed battery.

are your water levels correct? Some of those chambers look almost empty.

Thanks for the replies. The battery was like that since I bought it. I am looking for a maint free one, but I do think it has something to do with the connection.

Yuasa YuMicron's are the best. My last one went strong for over 6 years.
A bit expensive but well worth it.

I had the same problem. Mine intermittently wouldn't start, totally dead. I fitted a new starter relay and that seemed to cure it, but the problem returned a few days later. Eventually I traced it to the same problem you've encountered -one of the battery posts was loose within the body of the battery, and as it moved fractionally it was somehow losing all current. I made a temporary bodge repair (not recommended!!!) by melting the case around the post with a soldering iron to fix it steady until I could source a new battery.

I paid way to much for my battery but its been a great one even over the winter months. I paid $125 from Interstate batteries. Its the same model from the 99-02 R6.

I think I paid $35 for new electrolyte and the original was as good as new

Like they filled it back up? I don't think its an internal battery issue as much as its a post conection problem. I may still go to batts plus and get it filled. Its only a couple months old.
