Relay went out...

Well like the title says my relay died... :mad( luckily my relay is located at an easy to get to location so I can jump the terminals with a quarter and I'm good to go. The local motorcycle parts store wanted $60 for the universal relay, god only knows how much for the fzr specific one... I think I'm going to get one from autozone. 12 bucks for a relay for a ford tempo. It will go nicely with my ford escort coils.

All relays are pretty much the same. Thats why you can get them at autozone.

radioshack usually has power relays also, they usually have a schematic with them also on the package

maybe this should be a sticky in the ELECTRICAL / Mods section. I had no idea you could use automotive relays either.

If its possible to do so, take the casing off the relay and resolder all the connections. 75% chance that'll revive it.

Maverick,

What are the symptoms of a bad starters relay? BIke cranks but doesn't start? or just doesn't crank at all?
