can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?

Re: can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?
It can be done, but it might hit the gauges on the right side and also I think it will run on the air intake tubes if you still have them in place. On and it really really loads your forearms on anything more than a five minute ride.

Re: can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?
okay ta for that , i have the 91 model - i think the airtubes are abit lower , but will check out the other clearances

Re: can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?
you'll most likely hit the frame
Re: can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?
You will not hit the frame. The clearance issue is with the gauges and the tubes (assuming you put them right under the triple).

Re: can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?
I've removed my air tubes (useless gizmos anyway) and put the bars under the top clamp.
I moved my gauges a little farther back into the fairing nose. I just contact with the gauges at full turn. Just barely hit.
I like that riding position better than stock, as it places me more into that calm bubble of air in back of the windscreen.
My FZR is actually my laid back/cruiser bike compared to the ass in the air Aprilia

Re: can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?
Could you post a larger picture of your Clip on mod? I'm considering on doing the same thing with my 92 (lower air tubes). I seem to remember someone saying it might help some of us that are over 6 feet tall.ThisEndUp wrote:I've removed my air tubes (useless gizmos anyway) and put the bars under the top clamp.

Corks, George and Tom.....Thanks.
Pics sent.
I still need to sand out the first clear coat and apply another. One of these days I'll get around to it.
