Anyone ever have this happen?

I switched on the turn signals and my engine cut out. I have experienced a battery drain as well, while parked. Bike starts and runs fine until I hit the turn signals...I'm gonna do a switch inspection over the next two days. I also noticed that it won't have the juice to spin the starter over more than two or three times after this phenomenom....maybe a short in the switch housing?

Sounds like your battery and charging system.

Sounds like you've got a loose connection and maybe a bad VR.

I had that problem one of your wires on turn signal are grounding out against the frame !

Yeah usually when the turn signal wires hit the frame the main fuse breaks and you have nothing. Check to see if you have the correct fuse in the box, should be 10A. Anything above that could be screwing with your electrical system and it could even catch fire!

Well I finally got my lazy ass around and pulled the tail. I did find bare wire coming out of one of the signals, touching the threaded barrel coming out of the left signal and taped it up. The 20a fuse looked like it was starting to melt in the center and I replaced that as well. Double checked the harness, topped off the coolant, buttoned her up and.....Nothing!
My dumb stupid ass left the friggen ignition on!
I had pulled the battery to check the electrolyte levels and forgot to turn the goddamn key off!
So I gave her the old GP start and Voila!
Ran her around town, tested the signals and now life is good! she runs great, and now I can park the cage! Time for some brewskis!

I have every Tues/Wed off now so maybe we can get together on one of those days? I'm thinking maybe a wednesday because I'm putting a new band together and we practice on tuesdays. I wouldn't mind a few lazy runs around Castle Rock, or this new road I found outside of New Lisbon.
