Post by CaptainCanuck »

Hello everyone.
I was given a 1990 FZR600 yesterday which is in need of some work. This site looks like its full of info. I read some posts and the people here seem very helpful.
I have other bikes as well....1989 GSXR1100,1989 YZ250,1986 GSXR750,1989 GSXR750.

Welcome aboard. Nice collection of gixxers. If you have any questions just let us know. Plus, put up some pics and not just of the fizzer.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Well, the guy who gave it to me said it has a bent crank. I just brought it home yesterday and haven't had a chance to look it over yet because I have been working on my 89 gsxr750. I won't have a chance to look it over for atleast another week because I need to get the gsxr ready for my last vintage race of the season which is next weekend.

Is that a broken cover? Was it laid down? Looks like its in pretty good shape, plastics and such.

Just remember to take lots of pics for us.

Has the FZR been laid down so bad on the left that its got into the stator? Anyway it look like a good stock bike with exhaust..... That way you dont have to wonder who did what behind ya...And that is a great lookin GSXR!!!

Yes the cover is broken. It appears to have smacked down pretty hard on that cover.

I plan to vintage race this FZR next season. I have plenty of time to go through it with a fine tooth comb.Hopefully along the way I'll learn enough about these bikes to be an asset to the site.

Welcome aboard. Nice bikes. Are the GSXRs the same bike? Either way both are nice. From the looks of that stator cover it got smacked pretty hard and that would explain the bent crank.

The black and yellow one is a 1989 and the blue and white one is a 1986.
It defineately had a good smack on the stator cover,I'll know better next week wether it is really bent or not.
