Mirror Mod

Post by cell »

I was browsing around on other forums and came across this. Should work for us FZR guys. I've been wanting to replace my mirrors for a while now, they don't even match (one is gloss black, one is flat black)

Better pic of the mirrors on a bike:

Here is a good site to get the mirrors from:

Looks like you would get good visibility from those. Nice find.

Too many directions? I think you can handle a couple screws and bolts after doing the tail and tank swap fiasco! :grinnod:

So are you gonna do it, cell? If you do, take pictures and write up a how-to perhaps

Yeah, I'm gonna order them tomorrow I think. One step at a time, still trying to get all the fit and finish of the tank/tail together. lol

Nice. I've been riding around with 03 GXSR Mirrors bolted in the FZR mirrors bases on my bike for over a year now (see my sig??). I can see completely behind me although things get a little blurry the closer you get to 100mph. I did it the same way as mentioned in that thread.

Even the cardboard fiber aftermarket mirrors are not long enough to get around my shoulders but they do. Cant wait to see more feedback on these.

Just thought I would update this thread. I did the mod a while back, I have pictures of the process (it wasn't that difficult really), and I love the way these things look plus they have a lot better visibility than the stockers. Here is a frontal shot, all the detailed pics are on my other camera, which I'll get later....
