Found this muffler modification at FZR Archives ( http://www.fzrarchives.com/fzr600/work_ ... ock%20Pipe ). Can't find any more information about it or anyone that has done this. If I gut it, will I need to adjust the carbs?

Almost certainly. The question then becomes, why are you doing it? What is the intent?
