jets and tubes

Post by bikevision »

i need to put new jets in my bike. what i know for sure is its got a k&n filter, and v&h supersport system. i was told when i purched the bike that it was jetted but i dont know what it was jetted to. how do i tell what jets are in it. i would like to just get new jets and tubes. not looking to make more power cause when it was running good it ran like a raped ape. if i can get back what i had id be happy.

The mains will be marked on the lip. Depending on what brand of jets you have the numbers will be different. Stock is 107.5. You will have to take the carbs off and disassemble them to check the emulsion tubes and the mains.

hey haunter hows it going.

ive had the carbs out before. i couldnt tell if the tubes were worn just by looking but i can see wear marks on the jets themselves. ive got them as lean as they can go and im still running really rich. the plugs foul out really quick. if its not the carbs them im going to have to replace cams. the bike only has about 7500 miles on it. i got it with 3200 last year. it ran good at first, i was changing plugs about every 500 miles. it just got worse and worse. running an ngk7 plug it would probally foul before 100 miles. that is if i could keep it running. its ok above 3000rpm but you get below that and it spits and sputters.

If you're on the last clip and still running rich, the tubes need to be replaced.

Here is a photo of the main jet, mine is a DynoJet and says 126 on it:

BV,
If you post me the pics and a brief write up I can publish it on my FZR section and then make it available for this group when it has settled in ?
