I purchased an electrosport stator and pickup coil which looks like the stator i removed with one exception. In addition to the two plasitc connectors there is a white wire with a spade connector. Does anybody know what this is for and what it connects to?

so would you mind posting a pics? It sound like it may be a ground of some kind but that's just a guess. Does the bike start up?

I couldn't figure out how to post a picture in my message, so here is a link to the picture. The wire in question is the one the one towards the top of the picture that is reflecting due to the flash.

I think it just pulled out of the connector. There should be 3 wires coming from the stator and going to the VR.

I have to agree with Luke on that. Looks like that wire was just pulled out of the plug.

Can i shove it back into the plastic connector with a screwdriver?

Most likely. Look at the other two and see what's going on there. You might need to rig something up to keep it there because there's probably a little plastic tab that's broken off.
