Hello guys, my chain on my bike is in descent shape and has no kinking or stiff links but since this bike sat for awhile the sureface of pretty much the whole chain is rusty, I soaked in my solvent take there for a couple weeks as I was putting the bike together after a frame swap and cleaned it up a bit with a wire brush which cleaned it up a bit but is still surface rusty, and a few oring have come out since I was wirebrushin it, I lube this chain frequently but I want to replace it with a good gold tupe chain.

So what brand chain have you guys used and was it just a chain or a chain/sprocket kit, I would kinda like to gear the bike down cause the bottom end off the clutch from a start seem sluggish and have to slip the clutch abit especially on an uphill slope, Is this normal and I have to get used to it or what do ya think??

what would you guys recommend for gearing it down, use both sprockets or just a bigger rear and what link count would I need, anyone done this??

Its better to change the complete kit due to wearing of chain and Sprockets...DID is the most common used Brand for Chains and JT-Sprockets or Supersprox for the Sprockets...most DID-Kits are delivered with one of those Sprocket-Sets. ENUMA is also an often used Chain-Brand.
If you want to change the Kits translation, a look about your targeted Sizes with help of Geardata (available as Freeware in different Places in the Net, for example at http://www.fzr-forum.de/filebase/index. ... ata/#files ) would be useful as it also calculates the needed chainlenght for you and shows up the differences in the reving behaviour and the resulting Topspeed,too.
